OpenHouzz Pte. Ltd. ("OpenHouzz", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and other applicable privacy legislation.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, use, disclose, process, and protect personal data obtained from homeowners, prospective property buyers, and users (collectively, "Homeowners", "you", or "your") who access or use Openhouzz.com, its subdomains, mobile-responsive platforms, and embedded 2D/3D spatial design software tools (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing the Platform, customizing floor plans, verifying your phone number via WhatsApp One-Time Password (OTP), or requesting interior design quotations, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data as outlined in this Policy.

1.Personal Data We Collect

We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us, as well as data automatically generated when you interact with our Platform and 3D spatial engines.

1.1 Personal Identification & Contact Data

  • Contact Details: Your full name, mobile telephone number, and email address collected during registration or WhatsApp OTP verification.
  • Property & Project Parameters: Property address, estate name (e.g., specific BTO estate or condo development), property classification (e.g., HDB BTO, New TOP Condo, HDB Resale, Resale Condo, Landed Property), estimated key collection/handover dates, and target renovation budget range.
  • Spatial Design Data: Floor plan blueprints (PDF/image uploads), wall modification choices, 2D/3D layout customizations, furniture selections, and design preference questionnaires submitted via our embedded visualizer (including third-party canvas engines).

1.2 Automatically Collected & Technical Data

  • Device & Usage Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identification tokens, referring URLs, time spent customizing floor plans, screen resolution, and clickstream interaction data.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: Information gathered through cookies, web beacons, and pixel tags to track session states, remember floor plan progress, and measure performance marketing efficiency.

2.How We Use Your Personal Data

OpenHouzz collects and processes your personal data for the following primary purposes:

  1. Facilitating 3D Spatial Services: To process floor plan uploads, generate 2D/3D spatial renders, save customized layouts to your account, and enable export features.
  2. Account Authentication: To verify your mobile phone number via WhatsApp OTP to prevent spam, fraudulent quote requests, and unverified bot submissions.
  3. Capped Merchant Lead Matching: To transmit your renovation project parameters, spatial layout files, budget filters, and contact details to a strict maximum of five (5) matched interior design firms, contractors, or architectural studios ("Merchants") for the purpose of providing you with renovation quotations.
  4. Platform Optimization & Analytics: To analyze user interaction with our 3D layout canvas, troubleshoot software bugs, improve UI/UX design, and train spatial layout recommendation algorithms.
  5. Marketing & Communication: To send you platform updates, estate-specific BTO layout guides, promotional offers, and operational alerts regarding your saved project files (subject to your communication preferences and Do Not Call Registry compliance).

3.Disclosure & Sharing of Personal Data

We value your privacy and restrict access to your personal data. We do not sell your personal data to third-party data brokers. Your personal data is disclosed strictly under the following conditions:

3.1 Capped Matching with Interior Design Merchants

When you start a new project for 3D floor plan layout and verify your request via WhatsApp OTP, you explicitly consent to OpenHouzz sharing your personal data (name, mobile number, property type, budget, key collection date, and 3D layout blueprint) with up to five (5) matched Merchants. Once a project receives five (5) Merchant claims, your contact dispatch locks automatically to prevent unsolicited phone calls or sales harassment.

3.2 Third-Party Software & Service Providers

We engage trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual confidentiality obligations, including:

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Database Hosts: Cloud database engines (e.g., Supabase, AWS, DigitalOcean, Contabo, Cloudflare) for secure data hosting;
  • 3D Visualization Software Engine: Cloud-based spatial rendering licensors hosting interactive 3D floor plan tools;
  • Communications & Verification Gateways: Meta WhatsApp Business API and messaging gateways for delivering OTP codes and project updates;
  • Analytics & Performance Marketing Providers: Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and performance tracking tools to evaluate user traffic.

3.3 Legal & Regulatory Requirements

We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to:

  • Comply with statutory obligations under Singapore law;
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of OpenHouzz, our users, or the public;
  • Investigate or prevent fraudulent activities, system abuse, or cyber security incidents.

5.Data Security & Retention

5.1 Security Safeguards

We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Safeguards include:

  • Encryption: Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL) encryption for all web traffic and database transfers;
  • Access Control: Restricted role-based access controls limiting data visibility to authorized operations personnel;
  • Database Isolation: Secure atomic transaction logic isolating user contact tables from public visibility.

5.2 Retention Period

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable legal, accounting, or statutory retention laws. Once personal data is no longer required, we securely destroy, anonymize, or permanently delete the records.

6.Transborder Data Transfers

Your personal data may be processed or stored outside of Singapore by our third-party technology providers (e.g., cloud hosting servers or 3D rendering engines). Whenever your personal data is transferred out of Singapore, OpenHouzz takes reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient organization provides a standard of protection to the transferred personal data that is comparable to the protection provided under the Singapore PDPA.

7.Your Rights: Access, Correction, and Accuracy

Under the Singapore PDPA, you have the right to:

  1. Request Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and information regarding how it has been used or disclosed in the past 12 months.
  2. Request Correction: Request the correction of any error or omission in your personal data.
  3. Data Accuracy: You are responsible for ensuring that all personal data submitted to OpenHouzz (especially property key collection dates and contact numbers) is accurate and complete.

To exercise these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer with your full name and account details. We will respond to valid requests within thirty (30) days.

9.Updates to This Privacy Policy

OpenHouzz reserves the right to modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time to reflect changes in legal requirements, operational workflows, or platform features. Any updates will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
